Tentang Potensi Madura

Sekalipun banyak perguruan tinggi yang mempunyai visi research university, UTM harus mampu mencari pembeda yang tentunya diselaraskan dengan kemampuan yang ada dan kondisi lingkungan Madura yang spesifik. Kespesifikan tersebut dapat dikaitkan dengan potensi yang terdapat di Pulau Madura yang termasuk dalam kategori kepulauan, lahan kering dan pesisir. Kegiatan Triharma Pendidikan diarahkan pada pengembangan potensi-potensi yang ada di Pulau Madura., yang meliputi sumberdaya daya alam, pertanian /peternakan, kelautan dan pesisir serta kelembagaan baik kelembagaan formal maupun informal.

Potensi Madura yang Dikembangkan FP UTM

Garam

Lahan potensial garam nasional sejauh ini terpusat di Provinsi Jawa Timur (sekitar 49,81 persen dari total 34.731 ha lahan potensial garam nasional). Kondisi serupa pada lahan produktif garam, dimana sekitar 61,12 persen lahan produktif garam nasional berada di Provinsi Jawa Timur. Faktanya, lahan potensial dan lahan produktif garam di Jawa Timur sebagian besar berada di pulau Madura baik lahan yang dikelola rakyat maupun perusahaan. Sehingga tidak berlebihan jika Pulau Madura disebut sebagai Pulau Garam, mengingat potensi dan share-nya yang begitu dominan terhadap kondisi garam nasional. Madura merupakan sentra penghasil garam utama nasional dengan pusat produksi berada di empat kabupaten yaitu Kabupaten Sampang, Pamekasan, Sumenep dan Bangkalan. Luas lahan, tambak garam di Madura mencapai 30% luas tambak garam nasional dengan sumbangan terhadap produksi nasional mencapai 600 ribu ton atau setara dengan 35% dari produksi nasional (Efendy et al., 2015).

  • Rancang Bangun Prototipe Teknologi Produksi Garam Non Pangan (garam industri, garam farmasi, garam analisis, garam spa) dan Turunan Garam (HCl, Na2SO4 & MgSO4) dari Air Laut
  • Rancang Bangun Prototipe Teknologi Produksi Pupuk Cair dari Limbah Garam
  • Standardisasi Produk dan Rencana Pemasaran
  • Rancang Bangun Prototipe Teknologi Produksi Garam Pangan (garam sehat fortifikasi rempah dan herbal)
  • Standardisasi Produk dan Rencana Pemasaran
  • Pembangunan Laboratorium Lapang
  • Scale Up Teknologi Produksi Garam Non Pangan dan Turunan Garam dari Air Laut
